What begins to really works to change this behavior patterning is to be willing to ‘be open to be called on’ by someone whose roll is to be your mirror . The environment requires a safe space and the communication requires transparency.
Abnormal Anxiety effects social, occupational and daily functioning… i.e. it’s abnormal if you’re unable to function because of it! Abnormal Anxiety is when you are afraid to leave you house, afraid to eat, afraid to talk to people,ect.
Normal Anxiety is when you are anticipating somthing new such as a performance in front of people, a loved one passing on, a dare devilish decision to jump out of a perfectly good plane, coming to a landing where the landing gear fails.
Abnormal Anxiety effects Normal Anxiety where a person affected with Abnormal Anxiety is not even phased by Normal Anxiety. Also someone who is affected with Abnormal Anxiety can panic during what would be called Normal Anxiety.
Without Normal Anxiety, the human race would have undoubtedly died off long ago. Anxiety acts as an important signal that danger or threat is imminent. It cues us to attend to important stimuli.
